Anthony of Padua, The Dormition

The figure in red at the center is Christ. One can just make out his cruciform halo. In his two hands he is holding the soul of his mother, who lies stretched out on the bed or bier below him. An Apostle stands at his left. His short, square beard would identify him as St. Peter; he seems to be holding a book, as if presiding over Mary's funeral rites.

The figure in the separate frame on the left could be another Apostle.
